Our impact
Auvisa Highway
Background
The Autovía de los Viñedos (Auvisa) motorway (CM-42) consists of a dual carriageway road (2×2) covering a total distance of 74.5km, connecting Consuegra (Toledo) and Tomelloso (Ciudad Real) in the region of Castilla La Mancha (central Spain).
Auvisa is the second segment of the CM-42 and an essential connection linking main cities and towns with Toledo (the capital of the region), meeting the demands of mobility between communities in the surrounding regions. In addition, the motorway is an alternative to the AP-36 toll road connecting Madrid with the east of Spain (Albacete, Alicante and Valencia).

ESG/SDG Key Facts
The Project has a long-term partnership with the PAIDEIA association, which is dedicated to giving a hopeful future to young people from broken families and at risk of social exclusion. In November 2022, as part of its Social Plan, the Project Company provided computers and tablets to the children of the association. In December 2023, a Christmas card competition was held for these children on the theme of “Christmas, mobility and road safety”, and the children who participated received a gift. A new visit to the Project with the association’s children is planned for Q2 2024. It will allow them to understand the daily
management and maintenance works on a highway and learn more about a future career in this industry.
SDG 5 (Gender Equality)
The Project Company is developing during H1 2024, a gender equality plan and offering additional flexibility for mothers’ work life balance.
SDG 7 (Affordable and clean energy)
80kW of solar panels have been in operation since April 2022 representing c.20% of total energy consumption. An upgrade of the grid connection of the PV plant to be able to sell the excess of PV energy
generated is expected to be finalised in Q2 2024.
SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
In Q4 2023, the Project Company received 2 electric cars and the O&M Operator implemented an energy efficiency policy so that electric vehicles can only be charged during the day when the PV plant is in operation. The Operator and the Concessionaire plan to share the electric vehicles from Q4 2024.
